Google Play Console Setup Guide — Step-by-Step for Android
To publish your branded podcast app under your name on Android, you need a Google Play Developer account. Google charges a one-time $25 registration fee. We guide you through the whole process.
Why You Need Your Own Account
Your app is published under your name and your brand on Google Play — not ours. That means your developer account owns the listing, your users see your name, and you control the app going forward.
Step-by-Step Setup
Confirm a Google account — Use a personal or business Google account, or create one at accounts.google.com.
Go to play.google.com/console — Navigate to the Google Play Console and click "Get started".
Pay the one-time $25 registration fee — Google charges a single one-time fee of $25 USD to create a developer account. No annual renewal.
Complete your developer profile — Fill in your developer name, contact email, website, and other required information.
Accept the Developer Distribution Agreement — Review and accept Google's terms to activate your account.
Wait for account verification — Google may take 1–2 business days to verify your account.
Invite Your Podcast App as Release Manager — In Users & permissions, invite our team email with the "Release manager" role so we can submit and manage your app builds.
